I love the website "Make Use of" (www.makeuseof.com). Among other things, you can download (including to your ebook reader!) a long list of FREE BOOKS about easy-to-learn computer and tech topics. To get the free books, you need to register BUT if you don't want their emails, just click those options (I generally also set up my mail account to automatically shuffle these emails off into a folder as well.)
For example, I use Evernote. It's a free program (there's also a paid version, but I've never needed it) that lets me keep notes (from the web, from anyplace, actually!) organized across my computers, tablet and phone. https://evernote.com/ is where you can learn about and download Evernote itself.
